A Very Sad Loss
22nd May 2009 - it is
with utter sadness and deep regret that we find ourselves having to advise you of
the death of our President, Miss Pat Pritchard on Thursday 21st May.
We do not have much information at present, but will add news if and
when appropriate. Pat was a tireless worker for, and long-term champion of
disadvantaged Staffords and made a difference to the lives of
hundreds if not thousands of Staffordshire Bull Terriers. Pat will be sorely missed by the Rescue, the
Downlands Club, and all who knew her. The world of Staffords
will be a much poorer place without her. Rest in peace, Pat. |

Important Information re: Code Of Ethics
At the committee meeting on 5th
October 2008, the secretary presented a directive from the Kennel Club informing
the
Downlands Staffordshire Bull Terrier Club that the Codes of Ethics for all clubs
are to be changed to the Kennel Club
General Code of Ethics with immediate effect. Failure to do so would
result in deregistration of the club. We have therefore
had no choice but to adopt these with immediate effect, but will be applying to
the Kennel Club to have many of our original
clauses re-instated where we feel that our previous code of ethics is more
stringent than those that have replaced it. Please
click on the link to the right to view the new code of ethics. |

About Downlands.....
The Downlands Staffordshire Bull
Terrier Club was founded in 1989 and recognised by the UK Kennel Club in
1990.
Operating primarily in the
Southern Coastal Counties of England, its aims are to further the welfare
of the
Staffordshire Bull Terrier as a breed, by organising shows and
other activities to encourage owners and breeders
to maintain the high
standard of the breed in the area covered. In 2004, the hard work of the
committee of The
Downlands Staffordshire Bull Terrier Club was rewarded when the club was
approved by the Kennel Club to hold
Championship Shows, the first of which was held in 2007.
New members are welcomed, both
nationally and worldwide. For further information please see the
